Modern Psalm 21

beyond the flesh
beyond the distance of the gate
beyond the carnal yearning
beyond the deep and darkened yesterday
beyond every failure
every tear
every rebellious winding path
beyond the husks
every forbidden step
You cover
me
(undone
broken
vanquished
still)
with the robe
of mercy
blessed
with the blood
of earth's only spotless lamb.

Matt,

I like the concept that you are doing here. I'm very into reading "psalms" of believers. Your writings are thoughtful and full of meaning. I would like to encourage you to continue writing and sharing but you need a better platform than this blog. More exposure. Also as suggestion, In the Biblical Psalms there is usually some introduction to the Psalm giving it a context of why it was written. Just a brief statement like "A Psalm of Matt reflecting on the godless nature of nations and the promise of God to save". I don't know, just giving a thought. Thank you for sharing what you have.
