beyond the flesh
beyond the distance of the gate
beyond the carnal yearning
beyond the deep and darkened yesterday
beyond every failure
every tear
every rebellious winding path
beyond the husks
every forbidden step
You cover
me
(undone
broken
vanquished
still)
with the robe
of mercy
blessed
with the blood
of earth's only spotless lamb.
